Riding his motorcycle, stiff as a board, wearing big "fly" sunglasses and a helmet -- ever the example of safety . . . but never passing us by without a friendly wave as we walked up 21st Ave to Maryland School. . . . That VW van with the noisy VW motor. . . . Water dogs in science class in the 6th Grade Learning Center. . . . Stories and skits at the Lake Pleasant trip bon fire. . . . A "grown-up" reunion at Maryland's 50th anniversary open house. . . . His memory lives on in the hearts of his grateful students!

Mr. Heath was my 6th grade science teacher at Maryland Elementary and the one that taught me to love the subject. It ended up being one of my favorite subjects to teach when I became a teacher myself.
I always remember Mr. Heath for his big smile, big laugh, and the big white bread sandwich he always had at the ready on his desk. We all loved his class.
He will be missed.

Bob, I enjoyed working with Ben at Arroyo School. He was popular with the students and always bright and cheerful. I want to offer my condolences and will keep Ben and you in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ben's death. He was a wonderful, kind man. I visited him once in the Alaska that he loved. I still remember his laugh. My heartfelt sympathy to his family.

Mr. Heath was one of my 6th grade teachers at Maryland School. I remember having so much fun in his class and laughing a lot. He was a great teacher who loved his students and loved teaching. I was very sorry to hear of his passing.
