Burton Clark Finch, of Spokane, WA, passed away December 25, 2024, at the age of 90 to be with our Lord and Savior. Burt was born on April 5, 1934, in Spokane, WA, to his parents Clair and Vera Finch. On May 20, 1955, Burt married Connie Ramsey of Wilbur, WA, where they also called home and raised their family.
Burt was employed by Washington State Department of Transportation out of Wilbur and eventually became Lead Tech. He also piloted Lake Roosevelt's Keller Ferry, the Martha S. Burt served on Central Washington Grain Growers Board, Wilbur Cemetery Board, Rockwood Lane Complex Board, and was an active member of Wilbur Lutheran Church.
Burt had a love for cars and planes and was an avid reader. He was a member of Experimental Aircraft Association at Felt's Field Airport in Spokane. Burt enjoyed doing auto body work, landscaping, snow skiing, boating, and water skiing. Burt was famously known for his well witching abilities, which he did mostly by using maps and rods, dowsing over 750 wells both for private individuals and cities in Eastern Washington.
Burt took over farming for his father-in-law in the mid 70s and later retired from DOT. He and Connie enjoyed traveling to more than 40 countries and later vacationed in Hawaii yearly. In 2011, they moved to Rockwood Lane Retirement Complex, and recently to Touchmark, both in Spokane.
Burt was preceded in death by both his parents; his brother, Kenny Finch; and his grandson, Cody Robertson. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of 69 years; his daughter, Toni Robertson and Tom, of Wilbur; and his twin sons and their wives, Mike and Beth Finch of Wilbur, and Mark and Denise Finch of Olympia; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11am, on January 8, 2025, at the Wilbur Community Church, Wilbur, WA.
