To Cavitt's wife and daughter, James/Claire, and Bill, please accept my sincere condolences for your terrible loss.
As a fellow Westlake grad 1976 with James, I knew Cavitt at school. Cavitt was kind and I thought highly of his entire family. My friends James and Claire, I am just so sorry for all. For Julie Wendlandt, cousin I am thinking of you too.
I am sorry to reply late. I only recently heard of Cavitt's passing. I just can't imagine. I do not have the right words to say; other than I care, I remember and I loved you all.

My oldest memory of Cavitt was swimming at the Rollingwood pool the summer before Cavitt started 7th grade. His brother James and I were a year older and including many of our classmates including friends we met in college have all stayed very close for the past 49 years. Cavitt cherished those friendships and the reason why we have stayed close is because we have all been loyal, honest, caring, hard working guys. That describes Cavitt and why he will be missed. Love you brother, Mike

Cavitt was my uncle. He was the sweetest man and supported me in anything I was pursuing. He provided well & was a best friend to my dad. He loved well and cared SO much about the people around him. He is going to be missed but never forgotten. We are so thankful for the time we got with him. I love you Uncle Cavitt!

I am going to miss his steady calmness and his slow talking, seeing him barefooted. But mostly I am going to miss about him is that he always asked about my kids, how they were doing and would say if they come into town, bring them by so they owe me a hug.
