William "Bill" R. Campbell - cherished husband, father, brother, son, and friend - passed away
peacefully on January 2, 2026, in
Fulshear, Texas, at the age of 53.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Chelsea Campbell; sons, Will Campbell and Kyle
Campbell; sister, Kristen Campbell and partner, William Smiers; nephew, Thomas Campbell-
Garcia; father and mother-in-law, Steve and Leslie Elliott; and brother-in-law, Chris Elliott, all
of whom he adored deeply.
Bill's educational journey began at Westlake High School in
Austin, Texas, where he graduated
in 1990. He went on to pursue his love of football, earning scholarships to both Kansas State
University in Manhattan, Kansas, and Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches,
Texas. Bill graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and built a
successful career in the building products industry.
Bill was a devoted father and, because he traveled for work for much of his career, he loved
spending time with family, playing golf, hunting, and watching his favorite football and baseball
teams. In recent years, Bill took pride in honing his skills as a barbecue expert, delighting
family and friends with his delicious smoked brisket, pork butt, and ribs.
His army of loving and devoted friends from high school, college and his professional life agree
that Bill excelled at building deep personal relationships. The extent of those friendships was
never more evident than in Bill's final months as many travelled near and far to visit him one
last time.
Bill was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas E. and Nancy Campbell and
grandparents, William and Edwina (Certain) Campbell and Raymond and Ara Mae (Atkins)
Greene.
A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at The
Williams House on the West Campus of Second Baptist Church, 19449 Katy Freeway,
