CLYDE BURNETT Obituary

Clyde T. Burnett 1926 ~ 2011 Born Aug. 14, 1926 and received into God's greater glory on July 22, 2011. Clyde was a man of honor, duty and a tremendous life spirit for his family, his God, his country, and his many passions.Clyde was born in Pocatello, Idaho. His youth was spent, fishing, hunting and playing baseball in the hills of Southern Idaho. Clyde enlisted early (16) to do his duty for his country serving in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he went on to college and got his degree from the University of Utah and played in the marching band. Clyde met his lifetime companion and soon to be wife of 61 years, the beautiful Betty Ollis while at the U. Clyde and Betty met our Lord Jesus Christ at First Baptist Church of Salt Lake and was an active member for 57 years. Clyde rarely missed a Sunday and his duty to God and passion for the Lord were a hallmark in his life. After love for his church and his family, Clyde loved to fish. He has fished all over the world. Clyde wasn't just a philosopher/ lecturer parent, Clyde was a rower and helper. He let you choose your passions and helped you succeed in whatever you chose. Clyde loved to work and worked hard. He founded C. T. Burnett and Assoc. in South Salt Lake. He was a proud member of Kaibab #25 Mason Lodge and member of the El Kalah Shrine Band. Clyde joins the apple of his eye Brenda Nelson (daughter) to be with our savior. Clyde is survived by his wife Betty, his children Ken (Ann), Bruce (Dana), Kelly Nelson (son-in-law) of Salt Lake; and Lisa (Mark) of Chicago; and eight grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church at 777 S. and 1300 E. on Sunday, July 31st at 6:00 p.m. with a viewing at 5:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Monday, August 1st at 9:00 a.m. for family and close friends at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery. To the Burnett Family:

I am very sorry to hear of Clyde's passing. He was friendly, warm, funny and caring. He was always happy to see me and never failed to ask after myself and my family and always congratulated me on my victories in life.

Clyde was a very friendly and helpful neighbor. When I first moved in across the street, he would always loan me a tool I needed to complete the task at hand. I will always be grateful for good friends and neighbors like Clyde and Betty Burnett! Steve Motzkus friend and neighbor
