Dale E. Gruntorad
August 14, 1939 - April 30, 2024
Dale E. Gruntorad was born August 14, 1939, to Edwin and Myrtle Gruntorad near Emerald, NE. Dale passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He graduated from University High School in Lincoln, NE. and attended National Business Institute in Lincoln, Ne. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, NE. He received his Certified Public Accountant Certificate on February 1, 1968.
Dale owned his own accounting firm: Dale E. Gruntorad & Co. He was a member of many professional, civic and community organizations. He also served on the Board of Directors at several companies. He loved to hunt, fish, play golf and travel.
He was united in marriage to Sandra Ikerd in 1961. They had four children: Lynn (Mike) Price, Michelle (Mark) Brandt, Jill Bucknor and Kevin (Lisa) Gruntorad; nine grandchildren: Curtis (Anessa) Price, Ashley (Matt) Langley, Jordan (Daniel) Flynn, Blaine (Megan) Price, Camille (Avinash) Both, Devon Brandt, Klayton (Charlie Liebel) Gruntorad, Dillon Brandt and Nikolas Gruntorad; and nine great-grandchildren: Jace Langley, Kyle Langley, Brynlee Flynn, Jaxon Price, Kimberly Langley, Brecken Flynn, Kannon Gruntorad, Addilyn Price and Abhi Both.
Dale is survived by his wife, Sandra Gruntorad (Ikerd) of 62 years, and their four children, sister, Shirley Dillman of Round Rock, TX. Preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Geri (Don) Perry.
Memorials in lieu of flowers, to The Friendship Home, The Food Bank of Lincoln or charity of your choice.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Lincoln, NE, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be Monday, May 6, 2024, at Sheridan Lutheran Church, Lincoln, NE, at 11:00am.
