Daniel Staub Obituary

Daniel Jay Staub Passed away suddenly on Friday, November 28, 2014. He is survived by his father, Ronald of Tucson and brother, Andrew of Cuenca, Ecuador. He will be missed by many dear friends, especially Mary and Joel and Els and Stu, and by his devoted canine companion, Becky. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Anita. Dan was born October 2, 1961 and grew up in Highland Park, IL. After a short stint at Brown University in Rhode Island, he moved around the country, holding retail sales positions in Kansas City, Los Angeles and Boston. While in LA, he achieved a small measure of fame as a two-week winner on the TV quiz show "Jeopardy". In 2002, he joined his parents in Tucson, where they had retired in 1996. While in Tucson, Dan very much enjoyed his volunteer coaching work with LiteracyConnnects, a Tucson nonprofit that provides literacy programs for children and adults. No funeral services are planned. Dan's father and brother will be receiving condolences on Thursday, December 4, 2014, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the family home (need directions? call 529-6159.) Donations in Dan's memory may be made to his favorite charity LiteracyConnects.org or to yours.
