Pastor David Earnest

Pastor David Earnest, of Marianna, peacefully transitioned to his new home in Glory Saturday night, January 6, 2024 at the age of 54. He was home with his wife of 25 years, Amy and sons, Elijah David and Josiah David. David loved being outdoors, farming, and spending time with his family. He said he always felt closest to the Lord when he spent time walking through the woods. He also was an avid reader of theology & local history. David, son of Don and the late Anna Lee Earnest, served the Lord all throughout his life. He first served as a history teacher at South Hills Christian School, as executive director of Camp Carmel, and served as a youth minister before answering the call to become a Pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church. He also ministered at Kingwood Baptist Church and Mount Vernon Baptist Church before returning to Bethlehem Baptist. Pastor David loved his church family and was a humble servant bringing God's truth to his congregations. In addition to his immediate family, David was blessed with his sister, Dee Ann (Travis) Ammann; brother, Daniel (Heather) Earnest; father and mother-in-law Randy and Betty Anderson; sisters-in-law, Angie Iams and Anita (Paul) Vitolo; and several nieces and nephews, Grayson and Landon Carothers, Kayleigh and Abigail Earnest, Ethan and Emily Iams. In the midst of this, David now joins his infant son, Isaiah David in their heavenly home. Family and friends are invited to honor David's Life with a Celebration Service, Saturday January 13, 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church of Ruff Creek, followed by a light reception. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests supporting the ministries Pastor David personally loved and supported.
