Estrich Page Obituary

Estrich Woodard Page, Jr., born October 22, 1927 was called home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2021 at 94 years old.

He was affectionately known by many by his nickname, "Junie".

Junie lived a long and eventful life in which he was truly grateful for the many blessings bestowed upon him by his lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

Junie is preceded in death by his parents, Estrich Woodard Page, Sr. and Willie Carpenter Page; his wife of 62 years, Goldie Powell Page; brother, Obie Page; sisters, Levenia Berry, Vernall Edwards and Dean Williford; and his son-in-law, Everett Hope Jordan, Jr.

Junie is survived by his friend, Sue Allen; his children, Danny Powell Page (Debbie) and Cynthia Page Jordan; his grandchildren, Renee Ferguson (Wayne), Carrie Forrest (Robbie), Jeremy Jordan (Rosanna) and Joshua Jordan (Courtney); his great-grandchildren, Kayla Newsome (Hunter), Anthony Ferguson (Kaitlyn), Jaclyn Ferguson, Travis Holloway (Marissa), Elizabeth Holloway (Andy), Charlotte Jordan, Hayden Jordan and Sadie Jordan; and numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Junie devoted his entire life to his faith and has been welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven with open arms. "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness! Matthew 25:23".

Junie was a lifelong Poquoson, Virginia native. He worshiped at Trinity United Methodist Church. He was one of the original members of the Men's Chorus, and a member of the Men's Club, Chancel Choir and Men's Bible Class. He began singing with his brother, Obie Page, at the age of 12. Together, they sang in hundreds of weddings and funerals.

Junie had a love for antique cars. He loved driving his prized Model A whenever he could. He was a member of the Colonial Model A Club and the Poquoson Masonic Lodge.

Junie served in the United States Navy at the end of World War II. He retired after 25 years as the General Housing Manager at Fort Monroe with the Civil Service and worked for 15 years selling life insurance for Home Beneficial. He also owned a business for 8 years with his son and son-in-law building homes.

The family will receive extended family and friends at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Poquoson, Virginia with a celebration of life to begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Poquoson Fire Department.

To Junie's family. I know you will draw great comfort knowing that Junie was a child of The Living God and that he now resides in Heaven. Junie was such a kind man. There was never a time when I saw him that he wasn't smiling and sincerely asking how was I doing. The last time I saw him was at Trinity and he was singing in the choir. He sure could sing. He and Bubba sang at my Grandmothers funeral a few years back and I know they sang at a lot of funerals and other functions over the years. I so loved to see him and Granny (Levenia) together. They were so close as brother and sister and when they were talking it was like looking at one person. They sounded so much alike and both loved The Lord so much. I send you my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you all.
