I am a 66 year old attorney... Forrest swore me in to the bar in November 1984. I knew him as he dated my beloved late sister...
I worked for him a few years as a baby Atty... and learned a lot about real estate! I knew him before and after rehab... jewel of a guy... also went to San Fran on a closing (Forrest had some great California clients) and we got stuck in SA Fran over Thanksgiving... I was so distressed, we went to the Top of the Mark for dinner!

I got to thinking about Forrest last year. I looked him up and found that he had died. I also discovered that his brother Clyde has also died. Two mighty fine gentlemen there. Forrest was so supportive of so many people, including my late wife. He and she were part of a group of regular Barton Springs swimmers, of am I conflating him with someone else? It has been a very long time. One of his good buddies was Will Hoover, who was also a good friend of my late wife. I did a great Barton Creek hike with the these guys one time. They were great guys! I did get to say farewell to will, but sadly did not get to do so with Forrest and Clyde. BTW, Clyde was my HVAC guy for years. Always fit as a fiddle. I thought he might live forever. RIP amigos!

I was a friend of Forrest since 1984. I am also an attorney but knew Forrest since I was at Faulkner in Austin. I remember when I saw him, he was on the wall pay phone in the lounge area and he was still doing legal work. Without a doubt he was the most compassionate attorney I ever knew. He helped so many people at no cost especially in the program. I last talked to him several years ago and probably shortly before he died. I miss him very much. When I first saw him, he was outside at Faulkner and he was just visiting, and he had his little white dog with him who he loved. Bottom line what a fine, honest, compassionate human being. I can say without a doubt the best person I have ever known.
