Frank Scharf Obituary
September 22, 1944 - May 4, 2024
FRESNO, California - Dr. Frank C. Scharf passed away on May 4th in Fresno, California. He was born in Jamaica, New York in 1944.
Dr. Scharf served in The Peace Corps in Cochabamba, Bolivia. He was an X-Ray Technician in Saigon, Vietnam.
He made his career as a local Veterinarian in Clovis and became the owner of Clovis Veterinary Hospital from the 1970's to 2000.
After selling the veterinary hospital in 2000, Frank returned to college to get his teaching credential to make a difference in the lives of children. He taught science at Caruthers High School where he set up a Doctors Academy.
Frank is survived by his wife Sharon, married for 58 years, two daughters, Ashley Hood of Clovis, Ca and Hailey Buchanan of Pasadena, Maryland, along with five grandchildren.

To all who remember Dr. Scharf. What a blessing it was to have him as a teacher. We all could agree this man was of a different caliber. Dr. Scharf was funny, intelligent and his work ethic was undeniable. I had the privilege of having him as a teacher but best of all he was chef Dr. Scharf! This man taught us- a group of gals and two boys how to make jambalaya. And it was delicious! DR. Scharf GOD bless you tenfold. May you rest in the peace that is found in our LORD and Savior Yeshua. GOD was so good to us at Caruthers high for we had the best of the best. Thank you Scharf family for caring for our beloved Dr. ,Teacher, friend. We will always remember and treasure.

I´m sorry to hear about the passing of Frank. You are all in my thoughts and prayers, especially during this time of grief. I have such good memories of your family through the gymnastics world and I was grateful to have the great care that Dr. Scharf gave my dog. May you find peace in the memories you have with your father and husband.
