George I. Brown -MACON - George I. "Papa" Brown, 88, died Wednesday night at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10A.M., Saturday at Bass United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert S. Kerr officiating. Burial will be at 4P.M. in Bowman City Cemetery, Elbert County. The family will meet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street and may be contacted at the residence. In lieu of flowers, they ask that memorial contributions be made to Bass United Methodist Church, 4062 Vineville Avenue, Macon, GA 31210. -Mr. Brown, son of the late William Watkins Brown and Lula Herndon Brown, was born in Hart County and had lived in Macon since 1963. He was the founder and former owner of Brown Equipment Company, Inc. and was a member of Bass United Methodist Church. Mr. Brown was a Mason, was manager and coach for the North Macon Youth Sports Association and was an avid gardener. -Survivors include his wife, Jenelle Dickerson Brown of Macon; his son and daughter-in-law, George and Carlene Brown of Macon; his grandchildren, Lisa and Mike Campbell of Flowery Branch and Christopher and Susan Brown of Macon; three great grandchildren, Kendyl Campbell, Leighton Brown and Alexandra Brown. -Visit www.mem.com to express tributes. -Snow's Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street has charge of arrangements.
