George Williams Obituary

Columbia, South Carolina - George "Thad" Williams, 83, of Columbia, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
Thad was a tax lawyer with the Department of Justice and was in private practice as a lawyer in Sumter and Columbia. He retired after a long career with Clinton Mills where he served as CEO and CFO.
He is survived by his son, T. Russell Williams (Heidi); daughters, Virginia C. Williams and Cecilia W. Powell (Todd); grandchildren, Sophie Williams and Lillian Powell; sisters, Mary Ellen Bishop, Joanne Harrison and Jeanne Mitchell. He was predeceased by his brother, T. Vance Williams.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, in Elmwod Cemetery.
Dunbar Funeral Home Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
