J.B. Cantrell

Easley

J. B. Cantrell, 92, husband of Soon Ja Kim Cantrell, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Cantrell was born in Pickens County, a son of the late George Wallace and Minnie Chapman Cantrell. He was retired as owner and operator of Cedar Rock Grocery and he was a member of Cedar Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Cantrell was a Mason and he was retired from The U.S. Navy after 20 years service.

Survivors include his wife Soonja Kim Cantrell of the home, sons, Jerry Randall Cantrell, Wallace Cantrell, and J. Bruce Cantrell and a daughter, Vivian Anthony, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Lavonne Greene and Myrtie Stokes and a brother, Charles Cantrell.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Roper Cantrell, two brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM Friday, July 31, 2015 in the mausoleum chapel at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens followed by a funeral service at 11 AM.
