James Williams Obituary

JAMES ERNEST WILLIAMS, 76, of Franklin, TN, formerly of Memphis, died July 12, 2008 at NHC Memory Care in Franklin. Mr. Williams retired from Taylor Machinery after 35 years of service, was a member of Concord Road Church of Christ in Brentwood, and a former elder at Southaven, MS Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and one brother. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie Gurley Williams, one daughter, Lisa Dukes and her husband, David of Franklin, TN; one son, Gary Williams and his wife, Tammy of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Ashley Goode and her husband Timothy, of Springhill, TN, Brad Williams of Nashville, and Amy Williams of Nashville; one sister-in-law, Arvie Williams of Memphis; one cousin, Maxine Ward of Memphis; two nieces, Nancy Pounders and her husband, Arnold of Belmont, MS, and Barbara Payne and her husband, Gene of Olive Branch, MS; and one nephew, Tommy Eaton and his wife, Pam of Southaven, MS. Funeral services are today, Monday, at 4 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel, with interment in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-4pm. The family requests that memorials be sent to Concord Road Church of Christ or Southaven Church of Christ.
