Jerry L. Sullivan, age 83, died in his home in Pasadena, Texas, on Sunday February 1st, 2015 of natural causes. Jerry Sullivan was born November 14, 1931 in Nathan Arkansas. He was the middle child of the late Dallas and Bertha Mae Sullivan. He graduated from Malvern High school in 1950, he served in the Army for 2 years, and went to Henderson College for 2 years. In 1955, he moved to Pasadena and worked for Shell in the chemical lab until he retired in 1988. Jerry was a religious man and a long time member of Burke Road Church of Christ.
To say he was an avid sportsman would be an understatement. He could hunt ducks, geese, quail, squirrels and even wild hogs. When it wasn't hunting season, he could be found fishing and both fresh and saltwater fish feared him. Besides being a sportsman, he loved watching sports as well, especially if one of his grandchildren were involved. Whether it was his granddaughter playing basketball, or one of his grandson's playing football or soccer, he tried to make every game he could.
Jerry definitely had a manly side but he also had an artistic side as well and could often be found writing poems which he loved to share.
He is survived by his wife of 40+ years Joyce Sullivan, his daughters Diane Sullivan of Austin Texas and Beverly Bucsanyi of Deer Park, Texas; his son Steve Sullivan and his wife Chrissy Sullivan of Humble, Texas; his brother Ferrel Sullivan and his wife Joyce Sullivan of Deer Park, Texas; one granddaughter, three grandsons, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Shirley Mackey Sullivan, and his sister Martha Register and her husband Paul Register.
A viewing will be held from 1pm until 3 pm on Saturday February 7th at Grand View Funeral Home located at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena TX, 77505. The funeral and burial will be immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome and can be made out to Joyce Sullivan in care of Grand View Funeral home.

Our family has lost a dear friend. I was eight in 1956 when we moved next door to Shirley and Jerry Sullivan. So many memories were made with their family and ours. A bond that withstood the test of time that included the love of God and family, hilarious stories and good times. Our love goes out to Joyce, Diane, Bev and Steve in their loss.
Much love,
Cathy and Henry Mintz

Joyce, Beverly & Diane, Jerry was one of only a very small handful of people in my life, i.e. A TRUE FRIEND. Way back in 1974 my new boss told me that I would be working with a guy named Jerry Sullivan. I asked where I could find this guy. Peter told me to walk out into the hall and listen for laughter. If I would walk toward that laughter I would soon find a small group of people. The man in the middle would be Jerry. For the next forty years he brought laughter and friendship to my life. I will miss him! Dave.
