Dear John
So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I'm so glad to have seen and talked with him and the bible studies we had during lunch at Highland Park. Mrs. & I were talking about him today, and she said she prayed to run into you at Shelby Nursing and turned around and saw you while I was there.
Much Love Your way

I worked with your Dad at the Chrysler Model Shop in Highland Park. He was always upbeat and great to talk with while we were working. He told me about being in Korea and going through the first winter with only a summer uniform. No one should forget what our soldiers endured. Glad I met him.

My dear sweet wonderful father departed this world on Tuesday and is now my guardian angel in Heaven. He was the best father a girl could have. I was there when he took his last breath and while he could not talk, when I told him I love him and that he will always be my guardian angel, his eyes lit up and then, he left for Heaven.
I am so grateful to God for allowing my father to be here for almost 94 years and despite his advanced state, every day, when I came to the nursing home to visit, he said, "June, I love you!"
I am also so thankful to my family, Shelby Nursing Center, and Residential Hospice, for helping to take such good care of him. I would take my mom to the nursing home and visit with him every afternoon since the day my father resided at Shelby, (last August). My mom was devoted to my dad.
My brother, John, would be there mornings and evenings, and my sister-in-law, Kathy, would be there mornings and towards the end, all night long. (My brother and sister-in-law are both nurses.) We made sure that he had the best care. I pray that Jesus is taking good care of him in Heaven. But, since he always put God and family first, I know that he will be in good hands.

John and Kathy: My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. He was blessed to have both of you by his side carrying for him. Hopefully knowing he is now at peace with the Lord will help you. Love Sally
