John Martini Obituary

MARTINI, JOHN R., age 83 of Middle Highway, died April 19 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth 'Betty' (Tronni) Martini. They were married for 52 years.

Born in Barrington he was a son of the late Vincenzo and Maria (DeAngelis) Martini. Mr. Martini worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Barrington Middle School for 38 yrs. retiring in 1993. He was a WWII Army veteran and served in the 66th infantry 'Black Panthers' Division. He was a member of the American Legion Post 8. He was an avid gardener, cook and N.Y. Yankee's fan and enjoyed listening to music. He was the loving father of Dino J. Martini of Warwick and Donna Martini-Proulx of Coventry. He has 4 sisters Philomena Larisa, Theresa Windley and Connie Martini of Barrington and Josephine Sylvia of Methuen, MA. Grandfather of John Martini, Maijel and Joey Proulx. He was the brother of the late Anna De Angelis, Delfino Martini and Sorzio Martini. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:45 am from WILBUR-ROMANO Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Holy Angels Church, 341 Maple Avenue, Barrington. Burial with military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. VISITATION WEDNESDAY 4-8 PM.
