Dot,
Condolences on Joe's passing. I only have wonderful memories of Joe and the contributions he made to so many lives with his jocular and keen sense of humor. His love for his community is well documented but to me it was the love and devotion that he had to you, "little" Joe and the grandchildren that will live forever. God bless!

Dot and family, As I read the obituary I marveled and thanked God for Joe's many contributions to the Raleigh/Wake County community. While we had a few political differences, I always appreciated his positive outlook on life and his desire to help others. While you and your family grieve over this loss, you can also celebrate his Christian life. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I hope to see you sometime to tell you this personally.

My dearest Dottie, Joe IV and his wife and boys...All of you know how much your dear husband/dad meant to us. What wonderful memories we have shared, almost too many to mention...Jaycee parties, Lamplighter parties,(we all loved to dance), North Ridge dinners and events, Doug and Joe and their Saturday golf games. We lived across the street on Greenway Ave. in CC Homes, Kyle just a tiny tot and "little Joe" was born. Then we moved to within a few blocks from each other in our first real homes. Dottie and I and our Jaycettes and Bridge Clubs. Then our second home in Beaufort and theirs in Swansborough..we never got very far apart. Doug mentioned after Dot called, "I think Joe was my very best friend." Gosh, we are going to miss you, Joe, and our good times, but we have such beautiful and wonderful memories of all the GOOD times. RIP dear Joe. Dottie, Joe and family, we love you all so much. Our hearts are hurting. God bless you and sustain you during this very difficult time.

Dear Dottie,

I am so sorry to hear about Joe. Though I haven't seen him in years, I have great memories of the times we all shared back in the seventies and eighties. Such a warm, kind man, always with a smile and a friend to everyone. I had no idea "Little Joe" had six boys. He will surely be missed by so many but especially those Grandsons. Dottie, my thoughts and prayers will be with you and the family at this difficult time.
