Joseph Jones Obituary

Born on June 25, 1935 in Hickory, North Carolina, Joseph (Joe) Walters Jones was the son of the late Winford Garfield "Jiggs" Jones and Marion Crawford Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Baker Jones.

Joe earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and had a successful career in manufacturing engineering.

His hobbies included spending time with family and pets, woodworking, travel, and landscaping.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Joey Jones (Statesville, NC); daughter, Melanie Nieman (Temecula, CA); granddaughter, Chiara Nieman (Temecula, CA); sister, Betty Prater (Hickory, NC); nephew, Eric Hasque (Charlotte, NC), and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held in Oakwood Cemetery in Hickory, NC.

I worked with Joe for many years at Intercraft (Newell Rubbermaid) in Statesville. He was a great guy. He will be missed.
