Judith "Judy" B. Van Sant

BETTENDORF-Judith "Judy" B. Van Sant, 82 of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on May 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. Inurment will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday May 18, 2021 at Weerts Funeral Home. Memorials may be left to Friends of The Library. Online condolences can be expressed at www.weertsfh.com.
Judy was born on January 12, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa to Robert and Julia (Kiechler) Gierhart. She was united in marriage to Dale Van Sant on September 24, 1965 in Bettendorf, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1997. Judy worked in health care, retiring in 1993. Judy was an avid reader. In her younger years, she enjoyed knitting. She was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Survivors include her children: Glen (Sarah) Van Sant of Davenport, Iowa, Robert Van Sant of Ft Lauderdale, Florida, Jennifer (Todd) Dohrmann of Davenport, Iowa. Four grandchildren: Amanda, Joshua, Ashley, and Christopher (Heather); six great-grandchildren: E'Tayvion, Elijawhon, E'layshia, Nevaeh, Bryson, Jameson; one brother Robert (Betty) Gierhart, and a special niece, Susan Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother Jack Gierhart.
