Juliette Gibson

Mrs. Juliette Legaux Gibson died peacefully on June 3, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all that knew her. Cherishing her dear memories are her children, Yvonne Mathis, Dornia (Adam) Broussard, James (Rosiland) Mathis, and Josslyn (Dale) Smith; seven grandchildren, Collette Mathis, David Collins, Jr., Kara (Javier) Botello, Drake Broussard, Travis (Ashley) Mathis, Ryan Mathis and Lance Mathis; eight great-grandchildren, Michael Mathis, David Cooper, Julian Botello, Davin Collins, Kevin Collins, David Murphy, Darrius Murphy, Davion Collins and Calvin Collins; one sister, Dolores (James) Roberts, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 6 brothers. She was a beloved wife to James R. Mathis in his time of need, staying by his side until his death, and then again she showed incredible compassion with Joseph D. Gibson, also caring for him and widowing him. Visitation will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Ave, Baton Rouge on Saturday June 10, 2017 from 9 am until mass begins at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge.
