Lawrence Teague Obituary

Lawrence(Larry) Carter Teague age 85 of Bellville, Texas passed away on August 3, 2012. He was born to Stella Carter Teague and Robert Henry Teague in Yarnaby, Oklahoma on September 22, 1926.
Larry's early years were spent in southeastern Oklahoma where he attended Utica High School, Southeastern College in Durant and earned a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University Oklahoma. Upon graduation he received a commission as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and was hired as a research chemist by Shell Chemical Co. After his service in the Air Force, he returned to Shell where he started his 32 year career in Deer Park, Texas. While at Shell, Larry met and married his wife of 57 years, Patsy Bryant on March 25, 1955. Together they had two children, Douglas Carter Teague and Kari Lyn Teague. Larry lived in Houston until 1985 when he retired from Shell Development Company's Westhollow Research Center. He and Patsy moved to the country outside of Bellville, Texas into a log home built by his many friends and employees that worked with him at Shell. After retirement, Larry and Patsy owned five Foretravel motorhomes and traveled over 300,000 miles, making many friends all over the country. Larry was so passionate about their travels that he is a past Foretravel Motorcade Club Mid-South Chapter President and International President.
Larry is survived by his wife Patsy, son Douglas Carter Teague and wife Carolyn, daughter Kari Lyn Teague, brother-in-law Glyn Madden, nephew Brad Madden and wife Marsha, great-nephew Taylor Madden, niece Paula Madden Wise, and great-niece Rene Wise. Other family include: Pat Werner, Hannah Werner, Erin and Nathan Watt, Rachel Werner, Sarah Werner Korpita, and George Korpita.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Henry Teague, in-laws Bessie and Bueford (Dutch) Bryant, sister-in-law Betty Bryant Madden, and great grandson Eli River Korpita.
The family will receive visitors from 9-11 am on Saturday, August 11, at Forest Park Lawndale, Main Chapel, in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11am with internment to follow.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers and other remembrances, memorials be sent to MD Anderson Hospital by visiting their website: www.mdanderson.org/gifts/

Larry will be missed by his family and friends. He was a great friend and colleague. We always enjoyed his sense of humor and straightforwardness. We will always remember our lunch gatherings at Goodsons in Tomball that Larry organized. Larry and his family will always be in our prayers.

Patsy & family, You're in my thoughts and prayers. To say Larry will be missed is an understatement. He was our rock and my mentor. His shoes cannot be filled. The Foretravel Motorcade Club was fortunate to have had his leadership, loyalty and dedication.

Larry was a great friend and influenced my life in a positive way on more occasions than I can count. Most of the things I accomplished in my career at Shell started with this man. Larry's leadership skills were unmatched. During the time I worked for Larry, his team was a well oiled machine. My condolences to Patsy, Doug, and Kari. We lost a man that left a huge imprint on many people.

Patsy,
My heart goes out to you, Kari and Doug. You know how much I loved Larry and you both.

I'll never forget him having me pose as Patsy to do the walk thru on one of your motorhomes. He loved his Foretravels and Foretravel loved him.

God be with you,

Glenda Browne
