Lee was born on January 12, 1940, to Marvin and Gracie Blevins in Whitetop, VA. He was the third eldest of nine children. Lee was a devoted and loving husband to Shirley Blevins (nee Yates) for nearly 33 years before her death in 2007, and an equally devoted and loving father to eight children. One of Lee's greatest joys was becoming a grandparent and he loved spending time with all of them. Lee was a member of the Army National Guard and received an honorable discharge in 1966. He worked as a lead carpenter for the Arlington County Government for several decades before retiring in 1995.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers - Ted, Lyle, Leonard, Howard, and Roger - one sister - Mary Ann Jackson, and three grandchildren - Kimmy Harmantas, and Rondale and Ashley Tiller.
He spent the final year of his life with his special dog, Buddy, and his grand-dog, Chloe, and grand-cats, Stella and Angel. He enjoyed spending the summer in the backyard hand-feeding the squirrels and watching the deer. His final hours were spent listening to his favorite classic country songs, doing puzzles on his iPad, and resting with the pets.
He is survived by his eight children: Lee Blevins, Jr (Hedgesville, WV), Charlotte Harmantas (Hedgesville, WV), Dixie Blevins-Bozenko and husband Joe (Martinsburg, WV), Carol Wampler (Hedgesville, WV), Theresa Webster (Martinsburg, WV), Ronald Tiller (Hedgesville, WV), Dwayne Tiller and wife Joyce (Ft.
