Lorna "Dolly" McKibben

1928 - 2015

McKibben Lorna "Dolly" McKibben, age 86, of Gahanna, OH, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. She was born to the late Charles and Ruth Smith on October 13, 1928 in Canal Winchester, OH. She was a sweet, fun loving, and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was an avid baseball fan and loved to cheer on the Cincinnati Reds. She will be remembered for her loving kindness and sharp sense of humor. Lorna was preceded in death by her beloved husband Vernon "Mac" McKibben, parents Charles and Ruth Smith, and brother Charles E. Smith. She is survived by her three daughters, Susan (Thomas) Talling, Sheryl (Steven) Tisdale, and Diane (William) Longest; grandchildren, Sarah (Sam) Castro, Laura Talling, Matthew, Brian and Michele Tisdale; great-granddaughter, Sophia Castro; sister, Naomi Kreachbaum; beloved sisters-in-law, Joan Beguhl and Sharon Jones; nieces and nephews, Mark Smith, Ann Bohman, Joelyn Lanning and Bruce, Randy, Brian and Lisa McKibben; special friends, Bob and Cathy Burskey; extended family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held in the spring when the birds return and the bluebells bloom. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at BEECHER Rd.), Gahanna. Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating.
