Tina,
It seems like any words of condolences I might offer at a time like this could never be enough. I just dont know where to begin and exactly what to say, but I want you to know that Im thinking of you and your kids, Marydawn, Melina, Mitch, Mr. Calayo and all of the Calayo family. Im hoping that somehow, someday youll be okay. Manny was such a unique and amazing guy and I know that Ive never met anyone quite like him. For as talented as he was, he seemed to be equally humble and genuine. As impressive as he was as a musician, he was never above helping someone else learn to play. As far as I could tell, he was a hard-working guy but he was also the life of any party, and he knew that life was meant to be enjoyed. It seems like he was the ringleader of any fun that was going on. More importantly though, he was a dedicated father and husband and it was obvious that he loved you much more than words can say. The last time I saw you guys I dont even remember him talking much about his siutation. I think he spoke more about music, his family members , your kids, some politics, but he also took plenty of time to joke around. Ill never forget the time you two picked me up at the bus station on a surprise visit early on a Saturday morning. And I will never forget getting to play music with Manny even though it was just one brief occassion. It probably didnt mean much to him but it was a huge highlight for me. It really doesnt seem possible that he is gone and it makes me think of how unfair life can be. Manny was a class act, an admirable person, and I was extremely lucky to have known him.
Sincerely,
-Dominic

To Tina Calayo and family - I am so sorry for you and your family's great loss. I agree with Tracey in that we all knew Manny was your soul mate. You both have done a wonderful job raising your boys and even though the days ahead will be difficult, I hope your 3 sons will never forget how loved they were by their dad. I pray that all of you can feel God's arms embracing you and giving you the strength and courage to take one day at a time, one step at a time and one minute at a time as you live through this challenging chapter of life. Rely on God's strength and the wonderful memories you all made - keep them alive and celebrate Manny as the wonderful husband, father, son and friend he was to all and how he will remain in your hearts forever. Please know that prayers are being sent your way. God Bless You Tina! Love, DeAnne Grove

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
For to His angels He's given a command,
To guard you in all of your ways,
Upon their hands they will bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

To the Calayo Family, It is hard to put into words how my heart is breaking for you all. Manny was a ray of sunshine for all who crossed paths with him. He was so positive, funny, humble, and genuine. He made an impact on lives and certainly will be missed by all. Tina, my sweet friend, please know that I am sending love to you I am so sad, I know Manny was the center of your heart and your soulmate. May his memories live on and know that death can not take the love you both shared away. Christian, Gabe, and Noah, your father loved you all so, your bond is unbreakable. I pray you all continue your love for music just like your dad, he is looking from above and will always watch over you. Keep his legacy pure and honorable.
