Marian Walsh Obituary

Marian H. Walsh (nee Hagelgans) of Malvern, PA passed away peacefully on June 28, 2018 at home after a long illness. Born and raised in Hazleton, PA, Marian married after high school and eventually relocated to West Chester where she raised four children. An avid gardener, gourmet cook and daily walker, Marian could be seen vigorously walking the streets of Malvern, through all weather conditions, wearing her trademark green hat. Only up until recently, Marian was an enthusiastic member of the Main Line YMCA, often in the front row of an aerobics or boot-camp type exercise class. For her most recent professional career, Marian worked in the accounting office at the Church Farm School, Exton, PA and as an administrative assistant in the West Chester Area School District. She volunteered her time with Surrey Services of Devon, PA and was proud to be an active docent at Longwood Gardens. Marian was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Magno and is survived by her children Gary Magno (Daren) of Durango, CO, Patricia Gillespie (John) of Malvern, PA and Mark Magno (Kathy) of New Hope, PA in addition to her siblings Carmen Hagelgans (Arlene) of Myrtle Beach, SC, James Hagelgans (Joanie) of Absecon, NJ, Lucille Serock of Myrtle Beach, SC and Nancy Myers (Joe) of Swarthmore, PA. In addition, Marian will be greatly missed by her partner Ted Rosenlund of Kennett Square, PA and especially her six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Main Line Heath, HomeCare and Hospice for the care and compassion given to Marian during her illness. Funeral services will be private.
