MARION FISKE Obituary

March 27, 1928 - October 15, 2010

Marion Fiske was born on March 27, 1928 in Bridgeport, Connecticut daughter of Paul and Julia Mrasco. She raised her family in Fairfield, Connecticut where she also had a career as a legal secretary. She moved to Merced nineteen years ago to be closer to family.

She is preceeded in death by her parents and both husbands, Mr. Robert Semega, and Mr. Don Fiske.

She is survived by her sister Mrs. Loretta Poccia and her husband Frederick of Darien Connecticut, her children; Mrs. Jayne Tacke and her husband Dr. Sam Tacke of Merced, California and Dr. Carolyn Smith and her husband Dr. Alan Smith of Bloomington, Indiana. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dr. Carrie Cocklin and her husband Dr. Ross Cocklin of Bloomington Indiana. Rob Tacke and his wife Trisha of Charlottesville, Virginia, Miss Sarah Tacke of Charlottesville, Virginia and Dr. Allison Smith, her husband Dr. Bret Mobley of Nashville Tennessee and her great-grandchildren, Claire, Harrison, Alex, Elizabeth and Harper.

Marion was an avid NY Yankees fan and she also loved cooking for her family and knitting. She was a volunteer at the gift shop at Mercy Hospital in Merced for several years. She especially treasured the love of family and the importance of having fun! She will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 4:30 pm until 7:30 pm. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at Our Lady Of Mercy Catholic Church at 11:30 am on Saturday, October 23, 2010 followed by Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be private at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fairfield, CT.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
