I am so very sorry to hear about my childhood friend Mark. We grew up together and played ball together. I hadn't heard from him in years, but still consider him a very close friend and am blown away by this sad news. My condolences to his family, friends and especially to Scott and Fred. Rest in peace, Markie.

Mark and I went to high school together at Sullivan North in Kingsport. I remember meeting him in PE class during our first semester as freshmen and I could tell immediately that he was just a great guy. We were good friends all through high school but back then when people left for college it was much harder to keep in touch and I guess I had not seen him since 1985. I can tell from the kind messages here that he grew into just the sort of smart, caring, and respectful man that I would have imagined. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

So sorry to hear the news about Mark. He was a college buddy of mine, and I feel lucky to have known him. He was a very kind man, and the world is emptier without him in it.

We think of wicked funny wit when we think of Mark. And, of course, his Einstein hair, which made his jokes even more outrageous. Love to Stormi, Micah, Noah, and Elliott, all of whom keep Mark's legacy alive.

Mark will be missed by his neighbors. He always had a smile and kind word when you saw him at the playground, pool, or just out and about

Mark was a sure and steady person. He was so diligent in what he did in the church. I appreciated the many years of service he performed as a ward clerk. We were so sorry to hear of his disease. He was valiant all the way through and a great example to all of us as is his wife Stormi. I am so sorry he had to leave so soon, but he left a lasting impression of service and good cheer to all. We will dearly miss him.

April 4, 2017

Sweet Stormi,

We feel so blessed to have known Mark. When the two of you first got married the thought went through my mind: "Now this is a special marriage made in Heaven." You both are so right for each other. And of course, will be reunited in Heaven. But meanwhile we send out love and prayers to you and your precious family. You're amazing woman! So glad our paths crossed way back in YSA's.

Prayers and good thoughts, Sharlene and Russ Barber

I had the honor and privilege of working with Mark as we served as Ward Clerks in the Pellissippi Ward for many years together. Mark was always dedicated to his calling, but always found the time to stop and speak in kindness to all the ward members and to his children when they would "pop in" to the clerk's office. Mark was a bear-cat when it came to solving a financial question, digging relentlessly until he got the answer. I always thought of Mark as a close friend, a loving husband and father, and a man dedicated to his Lord, his family and his church. He will be greatly missed . . .

Mark was a wonderful husband, father, and son but to me personally he was the best brother that I could ask for. He was always there for me when I needed him. I pray that everyone who knew and loved Mark will be comforted in the knowledge that Mark will continue to be with us throughout the remainder of our lives and that we will be reunited with him in Heaven.
