Mark Luna Obituary

LUNA
Mark Muniz Luna, 44, went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2009 after losing his battle with cancer. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He was born on December 8, 1964 in Wiesbaden, Germany. Mark graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1983. He was employed with Eyemasters of America for over 15 years and was currently a General Manager. He was certified with the American Board of Opticianry. Mark took pride in his work and made sure his store was successful. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys and Spurs fan. You could never talk bad about the Cowboys or he'd make sure to set you straight. He was also a Marvel Super Hero and Star Trek fanatic. Mark was just a kid at heart and was loved by so many people. He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel V. Luna. Mark is survived by his mother, Josephine Luna, his brother, Daniel Luna (Linda White) and sister, Christine Valerio (Arturo Valerio). He is also survived by his niece, Carla Luna and nephews, Andrew and Matthew Valerio and his aunts, Nancy Villarreal, Elva Arellano (Felix), Gloria Muniz; numerous cousins and many friends. The family would like to thank Brian Engberg for being there for Mark when he was in the hospital and for helping the family during this difficult time. Mark made a positive impact on many individuals. Mark will be missed but his memory will be in our hearts forever. Visitation will take place from 5-9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home Chapel. Mark, its sad to see you go. I enjoyed shaking your hands and visiting with you at the TJ83 reunion. Times like this, one wishes we could have just a few more days, a few years, and a lot more friends.

You raised such a good man.He was so patient and thoughtful, and understanding. He was respectful and courteous.
Mark was so funny! He always had a comeback for your remarks. He was so cool and collective no matter the situation. Mark took me under his wing and taught me the in and out of our business. He gave me all the tools to suceed, and said "Go ahead share your knowledge and make sure everyone else is as successful. He was the Best Boss in the World!!! He always gave you 100% as as friend, expecting nothing in return.A true friend. He fought his battle to the end. I will never forget you.I miss you Mark. I love you Mark.
