Mary Alice Gardner

Mary Alice Gardner, 89, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, of La Porte, died on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Mary was born September 26, 1931, in Centerville, TX, to Aubrey and Rady Sims. She married her high school sweetheart, James Porter Gardner, and they made their home in the Pasadena area where they lived for the duration of their marriage. Mary's professional career was spent in the auto industry where she served as business manager for a variety of Ford Dealerships: Jack Roach, Luke Johnson, Osborne Apple and finally serving as Vice-President and General Manager of Chuck Miller. She retired in 2005 at the age of 74. Mary was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Her service focus was: Prayer Line, Church Nursery, Stewardship, Altar Guild, Bereavement, Christ Care, and Life Light Bible Studies. Surviving family members are: Son and Family: James Michael, Paula, Christopher, Aaron, and Timmothy (Round Rock, TX), Nephews: Tommy Tubb and Family (Centerville, TX) and Larry French and Family (Round Rock, TX), Nieces: Nancy Moeller and Family (Troy, TX) and Kelse Clements (Centerville, TX) , Many Cousins: Gardner and Sims. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. "Graveside" at The Centerville Cemetery in Centerville, TX.
