SHARKEY, Mary Mary "Maureen" Sharkey (Conneely) died peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2021, with her family by her side in Nahant, MA. Maureen was born in Ballyconneely, Co. Galway, Ireland on September 27, 1928 to Peter and Mary (Burke) Conneely and immigrated to America at the age 19. Loving wife to the late William "Billy" P. Sharkey, "Meme" is survived by her 6 children and their families: John Sharkey (Mary Ellen), Joseph Sharkey (Keli), Mary DeVeau (Peter), Kathleen Perrotta (Italo), Eileen Gisonno (Douglas), Elizabeth Osbahr (William), as well as her siblings: Andrew Connolly, Mark Connolly, Anne Sullivan, Edward Conneely, Michael Conneely, Joseph Conneely. Previously deceased siblings include: Martin, Peter, John, Matthew Conneely, and Bridget King. Maureen was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Paula, Julie, Christian, Tucker, Taylor, Corey, Katelin, Haley, Maggie and Derek along with 4 great-grandchildren: Nolan, Johnny, Charlotte, Colby, and a 5th great-grandchild is expected soon. Maureen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Maureen's grace and sweetness were a gift to everyone who knew her. She was an active member of her communities in Ireland, West Lynn, and Nahant with her unforgettable smile. She cherished time with family and friends, loved to garden, and was caretaker to all, with a special fondness for babies and animals. She retired as a seamstress in late 1995 from the Joseph B. Devlin Nursing Home formerly in Lynn. Visiting Hours: A Funeral Mass will be held on July 22, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Nahant. A graveside service will be held following Mass at St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. Funeral services are being hosted by the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, LYNN, and there will be no calling hours upon the family's request.
