I worked with Kathy at Altria and when I had my first baby she suggested Max, her wonderful kind husband. He came to see me after our daughter Katherine was born and when I had our son Andrew he was really there for me. Kathy I am so sorry for your loss and to all of the families that were his patients he was the kindest doctor I ever knew. So sorry for his passing and my condolences to his whole family. It was our first time out in three years and wouldn´t you know it, that was the night our 3 year old daughter got sick. We were called home by the babysitter. We called the practice. Max was there working late. He drove over to our apartment, checked on Alana and then drove us to the hospital since we didn´t have a car.
Who does that? Gd bless Max Kahn for that and so many other reasons.

What a loss! Both my children were cared for by his group - it was always so comforting when Max was there for a sick visit. We went to the same gym for a while - when there were celebrities in the gym they were always eclipsed by his appearance - all the mothers were so thrilled to see him. Thank you for all the wonderful care and kindness through the years. May he live on in the hearts of all his loved ones.

He will be terribly missed at Beth Shalom. We all loved and respected him for so many years.

So sorry to hear of Max's passing. He was the pediatrician for our eldest daughter, Rachel, when we lived on 107th Street. He had such a calming effect on a new mother. Then later in Westchester we found found we moved to the same town. He again became pediatrician to now all 4 kids. What a sweet man. He was a fixture at Temple, as well. May his memory be a blessing. With sympathy from the Sterne Family

It was in Paris, back in 2013. I was pregnant with my first child and very anxious. Max was there with his wife and friends, and he very kindly explained to me what a swaddling blanket was and how to use it. I didn't, in France, we don't. But I often remembered his words of how to take care of a newborn, and had more confidence. Thank you Max. And farewell.

How terrible to learn that Max Kahn is gone. My older brother Rick Scheuer was a close friend at Harvard and my father introduced Max to the HUC as a place of Jewish learning. Max was so kind and thoughtful as well as smart. When Rick had a brain aneurysm in 1996, complicated by an infection, Max came up to the hospital, which we appreciated very much. Rick did not survive, but I am sure his three sons still remember their doctor while they lived in NY. May the good memories of Max's unique humanity be a comfort to his family,

I am so saddened to hear this news. Max was a brilliant, kind, and caring pediatrician. He was an even more amazing person. Max was one of my mentors early in my career and someone I aspired to emulate. I hope to have become even a fraction of the gem he was. Sending love and prayers to the family he left behind.

Max was a college classmate who epitomized the meaning of mensch. As shocked and devastated as I felt upon hearing the news of his death, I am profoundly grateful for the quiet, lovely conversation we had at our 50th college reunion in May. I will treasure it always.

Max was my former neighbor on West 108th Street, and my now grown girls' former pediatrician. I remember him as a kind, gentle, comforting and lovely person and an amazingly caring doctor. I took baby Emma to see him with a stiff neck, and he told me that Emma needed to go to the hospital right away as this could be a symptom of meningitis. He then drove Emma and her father there himself. I am deeply saddened by his loss. He surely left the word a better place.

My children's first pediatrician will be very sorely missed. A wonderful doctor and warm and gentle soul, Dr. Kahn shepherded thousands of families through the trials and tribulations of rearing children without ever raising his voice or losing his patience. Never a thought for himself, this rare man was always available for a question, always there to allay a parent's fear. Our hearts go out to his family who have been deprived of his love and friendship much too early. May his name be a blessing to them.l

The first time I saw Max Kahn, I was a pregnant young woman, gazing through the glass of a hospital nursery. I saw a black haired, black bearded doctor checking a newborn in the nursery. He had a half smile on his face, as if he were enjoying the whole process.
Lucky me, that young man became the pediatrician, with Mike Levi, of our three children. It was clear from the first appointment that this is a kind, intelligent, thoughtful doctor and, above all else, a GOOD MAN. He listened, he cared; he took good care of our children, and by extension, of our whole family. My husband and I and our children mourn your loss, Max Kahn. We were blessed to know you. Our sincerest condolences to his wife and children. Rachel Ringler & Seth Siegel

We have always been so grateful to have Dr Kahn as our pediatrician. He has treated our whole family with warmth and kindness. When my son with just 2 weeks old, I managed to split my head open right before our appointment. Dr Kahn took care of both of us. Our deepest sympathies to the Kahn family.

He took such good care of me. I was 11 (now 38) and he treated me with kindness. First doctor that ever really listened to me. First time I met him, he had a broken leg, and hopped up on the table next to me.
May his memory be a blessing. Such a lovely human being.

I am grateful for how you cared for my little Adeline Blue when she had difficulty breathing and we didn't know why. You were so gentle... she was terrified and you comforted her like a gentle breeze on a hot summer day. I will never forget you Max. I am also grateful for the closeness you shared with my father, Dr. Benard Dreyer, over the years.

Dear Kathy, Hazel and Families. I have joyous memories of time spent getting to know cousin Max (and Kathy) at Marc Kahn's wedding. We also shared the journey to Stuttgard travelling down family paths. May you gain some comfort from memories of times spent in celebration and family gatherings.

Max was such a mensch. He took wonderful care of our baby son Zach (now 36, with two kids of his own) and it was great being a part of the Ansche Chesed community with him.
We've been in Philadelphia a long, long time but remember him so fondly. Best regards to Kathy. It's a terrible loss.
