Pamela WILLMERING Obituary

Pamela Jacob Willmering, 68 of Spokane, WA. passed away on September 21, 2023.

She was born on July 9, 1955 in Walnut Creek, CA. She graduated from Las Lomas High School in 1973 and earned an associate degree from Whitworth University. On October 28, 1977, she married Kevin Lyle Slater and the couple had 3 children together. They were deeply involved in their kids' dance, music and sports.

Pam married Sam A. Willmering on July 4, 1993. Sam brought two daughters into the marriage who Pam loved and raised like her own. Together they shared a love for their children, fireworks on the 4th of July, golf and countless concerts. In the early years of their marriage, Pam owned Forget-Me-Nots Florist. She had the ability to create the most beautiful arrangements. Everything she touched turned into a masterpiece. Pam retired after 20+ years of employment with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. Her final position held was the Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Tribe.

Everyone who knew Pam knew that she LOVED animals. Pam loved and nurtured all living creatures and as of recent had a very close bond with her beloved dog Kokanee. Her friends and family will greatly miss her long talks, encouraging words and funny memes she would post daily on Facebook. Pam ALWAYS rooted for the underdog and fought for peace, love and understanding.

Pam is survived by her husband Sam A. Willmering, her daughters, Jennifer K. Cumbie, Rebecca C. Newman, Jerica M. Anderson, Shayna C. Martinek, her son Kevin A. Slater, her 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 4 brothers, 1 sister, numerous nieces, nephews, and all her "adopted" family. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Thomas and Marianna Jacob.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, October 8, 2023 at North Church, 8303 N. Division St., Spokane, WA. The service will begin at 3pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pam's life.

The Family would like to thank everyone for the outpour of love, meals and stories shared about Pam. It is so evident just how special she was.

My name is Susan Burkett. I used to go up to her childhood house on Grover Lane in Walnut Creek and play. I remember her beautiful long blonde hair. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. It sounds like she lived life to the fullest.
