Phebe Cedio Obituary

Montville - Phebe C. Cedio passed away Friday Dec. 25, 2020 at the age of 86. She was born March 5, 1934, in Yonkers, N.Y.

Phebe was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Henry P. Cedio; her eldest son, Henry D. Cedio; and a grandson Robert H. Avery. She is survived by sons, Kevin B. Cedio of Cheshire, Jack J. Cedio of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and daughters, Maureen E. Cedio of Norwich, and Phebe A. Cedio of Montville. Also, ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Phebe dedicated her life and love to her family. While raising four children, she also cared for five foster children. She cared for and loved these babies as if they were her own. Phebe then decided to have another child and Phebe A. was born, and that completed her life.

At the age of 30, and a mother of four, Phebe returned to school to complete her education after an absence of 13 years. Her story is one of determination and inspiration. She graduated from Montville High School with the class of 1965. Her love of children continued during the time she spent cooking breakfast and lunches for the Head Start Program. Phebe was a chef extraordinaire, creating wonderful meals on a ""shoestring ""budget, and was also an incredible baker and cake decorator. She will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and love for family and friends. A wonderful mother.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10 a.m to noon Friday, Jan.22, 2021 at the Church and Allen Funeral Home 136 Sachem Street Norwich. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Elm Grove Cemetery Mystic. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.act.alz.org.

She will be greatly missed. She fought courageously to the end.
