My thoughts and prayers are with Polly's family. I worked with Polly in ESD for several years. She was a great secretary and a fun person to be around. She was always one of the bright spots in ESD. You never had to second guess Polly because she always told it like it was with no sugar coating. Heaven is just a little sweeter now.

Polly was a great secretary who could work wonders with large, complicated documents, she was also a wonderful person who touched the lives of all whom she worked with and who helped to make the Biofuels Feedstock Development Program an interesting group to work with.

I remember Polly fondly. When we moved into Building 1505 back around 1978, "Pollys Closet" became the standard repository of all good office supplies for our group. She was a neat lady. -- TJ

Polly was the iconic secretary at ORNL. Such an outspoken character and yet so loving & kind. She was the 'go to' gal for punctuation & grammar and an expert with Wordperfect and Word software. We respected her technical skills and loved to cut-up and tease with her. Polly was so proud of her family. She will be sadly missed by many many people.

Our deepest sympathy to Polly's family. We will always remember Polly as an energetic, spunky lady who would "tell it like it is". We will always admire her for her attitude and cherish her friendship.

Polly and I have been close friends from the time we were preschool. We and my husband, Bill, continued to keep in touch over the years after we all three graduated from Knoxville High School. Our last correspondence was emails on Polly's Birthday. I always remembered when her birthday was and would send her an email after we got computers.
We were so sorry to hear of Polly's death and will miss her. Our sympathy goes out to Janie, Kim and all of the family. Polly was very proud of all of you and talked about you each time we corresponded.
