1923-2021
Polly Richarz Mohnke, 98, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021. Polly was born December 9, 1923 in Houston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Mohnke. Polly is survived by her children; Rod Mohnke, Steve Mohnke, Mel Mohnke, Ken Mohnke and Kathy Mohnke Blakely, 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great grandchildren. A visitation for Pauline will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Heights Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled Thursday, January 6, 2022, 12:00 Noon at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 Houston Ave., Houston, TX 77007. Burial Houston National Cemetery.

Polly was so instrumental in treating us Trinity Lutheran school kids to the joys of tennis at Memorial Park tennis courts! It was always a highlight to be able to leave school and practice/play on those nice courts, even clay(!) as a junior high student. Her efforts still bring a smile and heartfelt gratitude all these years later.
We also knew not to disparage others when she was around. She would always claim the subject was her relative:a brother, sister, cousin. Good life lessons.
My own 92yo Mother also passed away this Christmas Eve. I miss my hero as the Mohnke family misses theirs.
