Many, many years have passed
since Bobby lived on Gum Street
and I lived in the same block but on Bellemeade Avenue in Evansville. When we were 4, 5, 6 years old we played together. Summers were filled with
simple adventures and yes, we played cowboys and Indians.
One days we were playing and Bobby was the bad guy. We tied him to a tree and went off to play elsewhere leaving him tied to the tree. My Mother heard someone crying and she looked out only to see Booby tied to the tree with rope. She could not get the knots untied and had to use a knife to get the rope off him.
The rest of us really got a talking to that night and needless to say, we never tied anyone to a tree again. Bobby is part of my early childhood memories. I don't think I ever saw him after first or second grade but he's right there in my childhood of wonderful memories of fun.
I'm sorry to hear Bobby passed away. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My deepest sympathies to Bob's entire family. Bob was an innovator in and out of the court room. I was his choice for court sergeant when he was in misdemeanor court and he was a leading advocate for establishing the Sertoma club. A fitting mantra for Bob: Service to Mankind.

Bob was very positive and interested in everyone in our building in San Key, FL
Bob liked to help people by sharing his good nature and by contributing constructive ideas that improved our community. He will be truly missed by all of his friends at Ultimar.

It was impossible to dislike Bob. His personality and zest for life made everyone around him feel good about the world. He was my friend for 40 years. I will miss him greatly, but shall never forget him. He WAS truly "one of a kind"

We express our sympathy to the Lensing family. Bob was a unique individual, a man with keen intellect and a quick wit. His personality would light up a room as he would share stories. We will remember his jovial laugh. Bob's presence will be missed because of his positive influence on many lives. Jim and Karel Byers

Our favorite memories of the Judge are from Rough River. He loved the lake and I recall more than once seeing him out on the lake sitting in the bow of his boat, legs crossed, studying case files. He said he could 'think better' out on the water. He showed us the mirror he had put in the bathroom for Jan at their lake house and how he had positioned it perfectly so she could see the lake behind her when she looked into it. Bob was a genuine, caring person who forged great inroads in the juvenile justice system and helped many young people turn their lives around. His booming voice, tireless energy and infectuous laugh will be missed by all.

How sorry I was to read this morning about Bob's passing. He was a good lawyer, a good judge, and a good man. Always pleasant to hang out with, I especially enjoyed Bob's wry sense of humor. My condolences for their loss to all the members of his family.

I knew Judge Lensing when I was a news reporter in Evansville in the 1970s. Things I admired about him were his dedication, honesty and forthrightness. Beyond that, he was highly intelligent and personable. I will always have fond memories of those years in which I knew him
