RUTH HAMPTON Obituary
Ruth Alice Hampton (Age 91)
Passed away in the presence of her family on June 23, 2015 at her home in McLean, VA, where she had lived for over 50 years. Born Ruth Alice Roenbeck on June 29, 1923 in Lynbrook, NY, she was working as a nurse in a Brooklyn Hospital during World War II when she met her future husband, Lt. Robert N. Hampton, who served with the U.S. Navy in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.A devoted wife and mother, she shared her love of life, people and music with all who came in contact with her, and made them all feel as if they were part of her extended family.Mrs. Hampton is survived by her six children, 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.Viewing will be held at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad St., (Rt. 7), Falls Church, VA on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 3 to 7 p.m.

Dear Hampton Family, I was sad to find that Ruth had passed away. Did not realize until I was unable to get my yearly holiday card to her. Both Ruth and Bob will be remembered as wonderful and supportive individuals. They are very alive in my heart with the fondest of memories. My very best to all of your family. Forever McLean Little League and "Mort's Bootery"
