Ruth Anna was my professor for a number of philosophy courses at Wellesley, as well as my advisor in the major. She was incredibly funny, sardonic, and yet patient -- to a point. I enjoyed our visits in later years when one or the other of us traveled near the other; we would talk about the trips she and Hillary took to Israel or to other international conferences, about our children, about cats . . . I will miss her very much.
