Sandra Beckham Obituary
Sandra Yvonne Beckham, a dear wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died peacefully on October 23, 2012. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, Jack Beckham, Sr.; children, Jack Beckham Jr and wife Susan, Vicki Borchgardt and husband Leonard, and Chris Beckham and wife Marki; brother, Mike Winthrop and wife Rohta; as well as 7 grandchildren, Whitney Rich and husband Brandon, Jack Beckham III, Carson Beckham, Anthony Lambuth, Avery Fuhr, Christopher Beckham, Jr and Brayden Beckham.
Sandra was born October 23, 1941 in Lufkin, Texas to Elbert and Melvena Winthrop. She was the apple of her father's eye until he left this world in 1954 to return to our Heavenly Father. After all these years she will be reunited with her loving father in our Lord's Glorious Kingdom along with her favorite Uncle Weldon Crawford.
Sandra attended Stephen F. Austin State University, Sam Houston State University, University of Washington and San Jacinto College to pursue a teaching degree. She raised her family in Deer Park, Texas and during this time worked as a teacher in a private grammar school for a number of years. She obtained her real estate license and worked for many years in the Deer Park area selling real estate. She was active in her community earlier in her life as a Girl Scout leader, PTA mom, and contributing columnist for the local paper. She struggled with health issues for over 40 years but always maintained a happy demeanor no matter the challenges that came her way.
She will always be remembered for her strong faith in God and deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Anthony, Jackson, and Carson,
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sandra's memory may be made to the Sandra Winthrop Beckham Scholarship Fund, Lufkin High School Alumni Association, P.O. Box 150837, Lufkin, Texas 75915-0837.
Funeral services for Sandra will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin, Texas, with Ernest Weedon officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Friday in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Jack I am sorrow, I have thought of you often after receiving your email. We do not understand why some suffer more than others, but there is no doubt Sandra lived a good life. When young we think we will live forever, but all must come to this point, then eternity. Good to know Sandra was ready. Still hurts, but God will bless, I am presently in the Philippines but will be praying for you and your family! God is always good! May He hold all of you close and give you comfort.
