Walter Reis Obituary

Walter Michael Reis "Mike" passed away at his home in Tucson, Arizona on November 28, 2011. Mike was born on December 23, 1941 in Quincy, Illinois to Walter and Alberta Reis. He graduated from Tucson High School and served in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained and The Bronze Star for outstanding meritorious service during ground operations against a hostile force in the Republic of Vietnam. A very talented artist he shared his gift of painting, drawing, and sculptures with many family and friends. After living in California for many years, Mike returned to Tucson to be near family in 1986. For over 20 years Mike was a site manager for La Frontera. Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Patricia Bogard. He is survived by his sisters, Sandra R. James and Elizabeth (Peggy) Bogard (Jim). His nieces, Kimberly Ziegler (Mark), Kelly Owsley (Ron), Sharon Coffman, Kristen Richards (James), Karey Kaler (Steve). His nephew, Mark James and 12 great nieces and nephews. Mike will be greatly missed by his family and neighbors and neighborhood that he kept safe. His Service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Palms Cemetery at 5801 E. Grant Road. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
