Shirley Hardman Obituary
SPRING BAY - Shirley Lee "Shirl" Hardman, 84, of Spring Bay, IL, passed away after a brief illness at 9:13 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
She was born on October 21, 1936, in Peoria, IL, to William L. and Emma (Reiman) Williams. She married Lyle E. Hardman on April 8, 1960, in Eureka, IL. He passed away on April 12, 1993.
Surviving are her daughter, Leeanne Hardman of East Peoria; her grandson, Kolton (Shelbie Rosen) Rohman of East Peoria; nephew, Lonie Rich; niece, Sheri (Jay) Brenneman; great-nephews, Alex (Mary) Brenneman and Jake Brenneman; great-nieces, Heather (Phil) Mercier and Holly (Josh) Riekena; and seven great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Willella Rich.
Shirley graduated from Metamora High School. She worked two jobs for many years in Spring Bay, McCarty's Grocery Store as a clerk and a custodian for Riverview Grade School District #2 for 38 years. She enjoyed square dancing, word search puzzles, being outside and bird watching. She was a hard worker and a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Private family funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021, with the Reverend Gary Salm officiating. Burial will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to TAPS (Tazewell Animal Protective Society), 100 Taps Lane, Pekin, IL 61554; or Spring Bay Rescue Squad, 310 West Missouri Street, Spring Bay, IL 61611.
