My first job was working at Link in the Lunar Module simulator's Guidance and Navigation group. It was a short but memorable stint. He led the push for the adoption of my idea for standardizing the generation of programming symbols against considerable opposition, because it was right for the project. He subsequently supported my application to MIT's Aero & Astro department. Art was a generous, open, leader; I wouldn't have searched for him these 59 years later had he not made such a lasting impression of support and warmth. Art, it is sad to learn of your passing; rest assured you left a lasting impression as a manager one dreams to have had.

My condolences to Arts family. I knew Art from Singer Link and Tennis. Art and I must have played against each other and together at least 300 times. I have fond memories of sailing with him, and playing tennis in Long Beach Island NJ with him. He was a good friend and I am sorry that he has passed away.
