Eunice Gibson Obituary

Eunice L. Gibson

Oct 31, 1924 - Mar 1, 2018

Eunice Lowe Gibson passed away suddenly at her home in Menlo Park, CA on Thursday, March 1, 2018. Eunice was born on October 31,1924 on her family farm in Minden, Louisiana. She was the eldest of eight children. After high school graduation, Eunice moved to Shreveport, LA, and at age 18, began her long career with AT&T, working for Southern Bell Telephone, as an operator. She left Shreveport and moved to Fresno, CA in 1949, where she continued with the Telephone Company, eventually working in its offices in Eureka, Vallejo, Sacramento, and San Francisco, where she met her husband, John A. Gibson, at what was then Pacific Bell. They were married in 1971 and moved to Menlo Park. John passed away in April 2006.

Both Eunice and John retired from Pacific Bell in the early 1980's. After retirement, Eunice became very absorbed in photography, taking her subjects primarily from nature. While she pursued photography, John pursued his passion for oil painting. They were both very active in the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto.

Eunice is survived by five of her seven siblings, two step-daughters, and many nieces and nephews. At her request, no services were held. Her ashes will be interred with those of her husband.
