I cannot tell you how much I miss Joanne. We would love visiting her in St. Augustine. She wanted us to see every great thing there and wore us out while showing off her home. She was so fun, so energetic and so intelligent she was as just a joy to be around. She is as so good to my kids and my Mom who often came with me. The last time I came to visit I was shocked to learn she was in Jacksonville at a rehab and had just had a knee replacement. I spent my vacation driving every day to and from Jacksonville because my whole reason for being there was her.
She was a woman who was one of a kind and can never be replaced.
I sometimes forget she´s gone and think of going to see her. If only...

I was just trying to contact your mom when I saw this post about her dying. The last time I saw her in the rehab center in Jacksonville she was anxious to get home and do some chain sawing. She gave all of us a guide on how to live fully and joyfully. I am flying down to be there Thursday and hope to here many stories I don't even know yet.
I just love that woman.

Anastasia and Anathea, your MOM was awesome. Some of my happiest childhood memories are with you guys. I loved walking through the woods learning all the "edible" things (ok so maybe that first time at FT Lewis I wasn't to happy about the "weeds") , I look back on those times with the fondest of memories. Your mom is probably the reason I have not clear cut the small wooded area next to our house. She taught me to appreciate nature.

Anathea and Anastasia- I am deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your Mother. Though our beliefs were different...she was a strong, brave, caring person. I am truly blessed to have known her growing up with you. My sincere thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

Our class of '59 was unique as most are. The last graduating class at Ketterlinus High School is what set us apart.

Condolences to the family and may the sadness of this time be transformed into happiness as you bring to mind so many memories.
