Dear Grace,
I did not have the incredible opportunity to know you, but love your mom, and all of your family. I love that I see the continued tributes, and undying love that lives on in your name. I continue to pray for you but I am sure you don´t need them. So, my prayers are with your loving family, who love you more than life itself. May your spirit continue to soar!

Grace's spirit lives on. There is a gym in her memory at her grade school. There is a boat named for her at the Vero Beach Rowing Club, a record that she holds, and so many friends and admirers. She is Saint Grace and I am glad our lives crossed. I call upon her regularly.

I know the funeral has just started. I am in Adoration several states away, praying. My two daughters are 21 and 18 and very close. I am a HC alum, and my younger daughter had just completed her application to HC when I received the email about the accident last Tuesday morning. The shock of the news has not left me.
I have written prayers for your family in the Book of Intercession here and will place a photo of Grace in the Shrine of Our Lady of the Holy Souls, a place of perpetual prayer.
The gestures of support from far and near, many from strangers are so touching. It is reassuring in these days to be reminded that there are so many kind souls in the world. Just to read about Grace and her family inspires me to strive to be a better person.
Grace has made us all stop and reflect upon what it means to live a holy life. Thank you.

To the Rett Family,
My family and I are so sorry for your loss. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with Grace and your entire Family. I was an AT at Holy Cross and although I didn't know Grace personally, I knew who she was and often exchanged a friendly "hello" if I saw her around the athletic complex. She seemed like a kind, genuine, and just overall happy person. Over the summer I would see her working with younger athletes in the weight room as part of a summer program and she seemed very passionate about working with those kids. They all seemed to love her just as her family, friends, and teammates did. May she rest in peace and her legacy live on. God Bless.

To the Rett family,
My husband and I marveled as we watched the news profile on Grace setting the indoor world rowing record. How did she do that? we asked. After reading her eulogy, it is just one of many of her amazing accomplishments.
Although we did not know Grace, surely I must have had a fleeting image of her going through Hogan, leading one of those campus tours.
Grace has seen the light of God's face.
Our prayers are with your family. May God's love and peace sustain you in the days that follow.

Dear Rhett Family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your wonderful Grace.
As an alumna of the Holy Cross Womens' Rowing Team, I can only imagine the strength and hope that Grace gave to the team every day. Rowing is one of the few sports that requires you to connect in every way with your teammates. I am sure that Grace's love and dedication ran through the boat and through the lives she touched.
Grace's years on this earth were not long enough, but already the impact she has had on so many will last a lifetime. The Jesuit motto of striving for the Magis, the greater good, seems to one that she learned from an early age through her family and experiences. This model of dedication and service for others is one which she embodied, and she will serve as an inspiration for generations to come.
Thank you, Grace, for being part of the Holy Cross community and for spreading your love and joy to all Crusaders.
With continued prayers and love,

To the Rett Family:
I am so sorry for your loss! I am sending prayers and love your way.
Grace was the teammate every person needed, the friend anyone would dream to have, and the person I looked up to the most.
I'll never forget our car rides home from late night basketball practices, our car picnics driving home from games with our parents, and our knitting addiction.
Grace made everyone around her better. She made me realize I always have more to give to my teammates, friends, and family. No one, and I truly mean no one, worked harder than Grace.
Thank you, Grace, for teaching me more about myself. I am a better person because of you. Rest easy sweet girl. I love you

I do not know Grace or your family, but this whole accident has touched me deeply. I am completely heartbroken that so many lives are torn by this, and that your beautiful daughter is now with God so early.
Please know that I am praying for you all. I lost my brother when I was 32, he was 34 Way too early. All I can say is that our loving God opens His arms and welcome us into that place that is free from pain, free from sorrow, and full of goodness and love and happiness! I know this because our faith teaches it and allows us to believe it!
How awesome that Grace wrapped herself in that faith - the same faith that YOU gave her as a gift at her Baptism! And she lived that life of Jesus every single day. Now, she is with Jesus - the promise we all have been given.
May you find peace in knowing that she is at peace and you will see her again some day.
