Maj. Padron Obituary

Maj. John Padron died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021. 

Maj. Padron was a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan and earned the Bronze Star. He was raised in Washington State and Kentucky and was an Eagle Scout. He was an undergraduate of the University of Kentucky and received a master's in public administration from Western Kentucky University. John was active in community service. He participated in the Hardin County Democratic Association and served on the Miami-Dade County-Community Council.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Lynn Cooke Padron.

Survivors include his father, Retired Sgt. First Class Jack Padron; two brothers Maj. Philip Padron and David Padron; and his sister-in-law, Kristen Padron.

The funeral is at noon on Tuesday, March 16, at Grace Lutheran Church in Vine Grove.

John will be laid to rest with full military honors next to his mother, Janet Lynn Cooke Padron, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff. 

Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
