Barry LaMont (Monty) Mills, born April 2, 1946 in Kansas City, MO, died of cancer on July 12, 2015. Barry was an Eagle Scout, graduated from Kansas State College in Pittsburg, and served in the US Air Force for four years. He worked for Ford Motor Company, Ken Johns Lincoln/Mercury, Santa Fe Dental Arts, and his own company, Vehicle Leasing Company. He retired as fleet and leasing manager from Don Chalmers Ford in 2008.

Besides being a Boy Scout leader, he was most proud of his service to Rotary del Sol Club, where he was known as the bean meister for organizing the beans and rice food drive for Roadrunner Food Bank and the wine meister for collecting wine for raffle and silent auction at the Governor's Ball for children's charities. He was a charter member of the Rotary del Sol Foundation Board that established the 2020 vision permanent fund that will continue to serve children's charities in perpetuity.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan Weber Mills; his children, Heather Louise Wichmann (and husband Kevin John Wichmann) and Barry LaMont (Rip) Mills, Jr.; his brother, Burton Lee Mills; his grandchildren, Emily Taylor Wichmann and Alexander LaMont Wichmann; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Patricia Katherine and Richard Raymond Brusuelas; nieces and nephews: Kimberly Susan Brusuelas, Kristin Michelle Brusuelas, Katherine Tres Brusuelas, Burton Ross Mills, Robert Harlie Mills, and Julia Louise Mills. He was a surrogate father to many.

He will be interred privately in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. A memorial service will be held at the Rotary Pavilion at Haynes Park, across from Intel on 528 in Rio Rancho on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 9:00 AM.
