Mark F. Raught

Mark Raught, 66 passed away on October 2, 2024 of complications from COPD. Mark was born on November 7, 1957 and was raised in Albuquerque's South Valley. He graduated from Rio Grande High School where he excelled at basketball and helped the Rio Grande Ravens go to the State Tournament. In 1975 he was named the MVP of the Albuquerque Denver All Star game, where he helped Albuquerque defeat the taller Denver team. He was a gifted athlete and enjoyed sports of all kinds.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara McGuire (Ken); sister-in-law, Louisa Raught; nephews Nicholas McGuire (Myra), Timothy McGuire (Andrea), Samuel Raught (Brianna), and John Raught; and niece, Amanda Raught. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Ruth Raught, and brothers Gary and John Raught.



A burial mass will be held at Ascension Church at 2150 Raymac Rd SW at 10 am on Monday, October 21, 2024. He will then be laid to rest at the Pajarito Cemetery.

Barbara, My heart and prayers go out to all of you! I remember when we were much younger and would go to Uncle Norman's house and play and visit. I am sorry that we didn't know that he was ill or had passed away. Our family sends our love and prayers. God bless you all.
